Arab Spring, 2011

Perhaps the most extraordinary political uprising of the 21st century (so far)…

…, and not just because it’s happening in Egypt, which, in case we’ve forgotten, was — along with Jordan — the only Muslim nation(s) in the Middle East to ever sign peace treaties with Israel.

No, the reason that video of recent events in Egypt is so extraordinary is that those events are — now — anything but unique in the Arab/Muslim world.
