Atheism & Morality

There are three main competing views about what evolution implies about morality.
1) Morality arises from our naturally-evolved, subjective desires. But under this view it would be entirely moral for one society to attack another, as long as it is victorious and exploits the vanquished in a way that enables its own members to better pursue their various other universal desires.
2) Humans have developed subjective moral standards that have the appearance of being objective. Objective moral values and duties are no more real than the tooth fairy. This means that breaking the golden rule is not actually wrong, even though most human beings believe that it is. If morality is ultimately just a matter of individuals’ feelings, then what can we say about a person (or group) who enjoys doing terrible things to innocent people?
3) Human beings are merely physical objects. Physical objects do nothing more than obey the laws of physics: electrons do not “decide” what to do, they just mindlessly interact with other phenomena. Similarly, human beings don’t actually make any decisions at all. We think we do, but we are mistaken. This theory, of course, lays waste to morality itself. For if a person’s actions are determined by forces beyond his control, then he can’t be held accountable for anything he does.
No matter what version of evolutionary ethics one explores, each one suffers serious flaws. None of them is fit to survive.

Why Right And Wrong Are Just As Objective As Science
Just as the nature of a chair points toward an end (supporting you while you sit), so the nature of man also points toward an end.

https://thefederalist.com/2019/05/16/right-wrong-just-objective-science/

———————

On a materialist view, all codes of conduct must ultimately be man-made or socially constructed; there are no objective moral laws existing independently of sentient beings in the way that laws of nature do.  Thus there are no objective criteria for determining if human actions are right or wrong… there are no… ‘moral facts’ which motivate behavior.

http://www.infidels.org/library/modern/richard_vitzthum/materialism.html

[Yeah, so, what’s the  problem   here ?   Morality ,  like  everything   else ,   evolves   over   time .   And morality  keeps   improving  as it evolves, too.  What is so hard about this to understand?]
