“Trump has committed sins — everyone has — but the biggest problem with calling him a ‘baby Christian‘ is that he has not repented. In fact, he has publicly declared that he has not repented of his sins. Trump actually said, ‘I’m not sure I have ever asked God’s forgiveness. I don’t bring God into that picture.‘… This is no small thing… Repentance of sins — to God, against whom every sin is committed — is the central prerequisite of being a Christian.”

“Trump said little about his faith during the 2016 presidential campaign. Unlike many other candidates for the Republican nomination… he seldom attends church, displays scant knowledge of the Bible or interest in prayer, and rarely uses religious [language]. Unlike his Republican predecessors [two Bushes & Reagan], he has not been outspoken about a commitment to Jesus Christ… Thus far [February, 2017] Donald Trump’s demeanor, character and policies seem to be little connected with the religious values he praised in his remarks…”

2020: Trump changes religious affiliation from Presbyterian to nondenominational Christianity
[Two things are critical to understand here. First, “Presbyterianism” is actually not a “religious affiliation” — i.e. a theologically distinct belief system — but rather an ecclesiologically distinct system of church government (a.k.a. “polity”). Second, “Presbyterians” cover the entire theological spectrum, from radical far-Left anti-Christians to solidly and unwaveringly conservative (i.e. biblical) Christians. Donald Trump’s version of “Presbyterianism” for decades was (and still is) comprised of unquestionably radical and far-Left anti-Christians (the next two articles cited on this page provide some additional background on the most famous “pastor” from Trump’s former denomination (Norman Vincent Peale, who actually pastored Trump’s former church), which articles further illuminate why that denomination has been anti-Christian for over a century). That Trump has formally left his anti-Christian roots is, of course, encouraging, but the preponderance of evidence presented on this page is far from refuted by this single act of denominational realignment.]

The Pastor Who Helps Explain Donald Trump
“Norman Vincent Peale reduced Christianity to a checklist of behaviors that, if followed, would guarantee pragmatic benefits. As he proudly stated, ‘We have made the mistake of thinking that Christianity is a creed to be recited. On the contrary, it is a power to be tapped‘. It was a faith in the effects of faith [i.e. a fallacious tautology]… In a direct sense, Peale’s positive thinking anticipated the prosperity gospel… [which Trump also openly touts ]”

… &
“For [Norman Vincent] Peale [and therefore for Donald Trump as well], ‘attitudes are more important than facts‘… The first fact that Peale’s [and Trump’s] positive thinking had to overcome was the fact of human frailty [a.k.a. ‘sin’]… Thus the necessity of repentance recedes… The self-sufficient faith Trump absorbed from Peale has no place for human weakness. Human frailty, dependency, and sinfulness cannot be acknowledged; they must be overcome. This opens up the possibility of great cruelty toward those who cannot wish themselves into being winners. A man who need not ask forgiveness need never forgive others. [Trump] does not realize his own weakness, and so he mocks and reviles every sign of weakness in his fellow men.”

“[I]t is obvious that Trump has primarily connected with evangelicals in order to expand his political prospects… [and] Trump voters didn’t really care whether Trump was a person of faith. This point rings true, especially when you consider that Trump drew more support in the primaries from ‘evangelicals’ who went to church the least often… [but] many who self-identify as evangelicals today don’t hold to historic evangelical beliefs.”

“Despite offering broad exemptions for people and institutions that have religious or moral objections to this coverage, the new [October, 2017] regulations maintain Obama’s [abortifacient contraceptive] mandate. Thus, the [Trump administration] will still force most insurance plans to cover these things, and… it will still force taxpayers, regardless of their own moral or religious beliefs, to underwrite this coverage for others… [Trump’s] HHS did not calculate how many newly conceived human beings will perish in the coming years as a result of [Trump’s] maintaining Obama’s mandate.”
… &
“… at most, [Trump’s follow-up, October, 2017 Executive Order] is a temporary reprieve, not a victory… [because] the ‘interim final rule,’ which [the Order introduces] keeps the [Obamacare abortifacient delivery] mandate in place for the vast majority of employers’ employees… For starters, this final interim rule doesn’t end litigation like the Little Sisters’ challenge… And this [new] policy, just like the original mandate, can be changed depending on who’s in the White House. Only a legislative solution, not an administrative decision, can permanently protect religious freedom when it comes to healthcare law.”

Trump’s Favorite “Christians”:
Twice-Divorced Paula White Praying at Trump Inauguration Is Exactly What We Expected From Trump

“[Paula] White was married and had a child when she met Randy White, an associate pastor at the church she was attending. Randy was also married and had three children. Paula and Randy divorced their spouses and married each other in 1989… [In 2007] the couple announced to the church they were getting a divorce… [Paula remarried again in 2014 with] Jonathan Cain, keyboardist for the rock band Journey… [Paula] White… made a trip to Jackson’s Neverland in 2003 to provide ‘spiritual support‘ after the singer was arrested on charges of child molestation… White has described [prosperity preacher T.D.] Jakes as her ‘spiritual father‘ (she sent him a black convertible Bentley for his 50th birthday)… White teaches that [spiritual] ‘salvation includes [physical] healing‘ and that physical healing and financial abundance in this life are provided for in the atonement of Christ… [yet] has said she rejects the prosperity gospel… Despite her claim, White repeatedly promotes a key doctrine of the heretical prosperity gospel: the idea that Christians give in order to gain material compensation from God. For example, in an appeal for money on her website, White says, ‘I Prophetically Decree and Declare Deliverance & Prosperity are Yours in 2019. This is the Year YOU Inherit YOUR Promised Land!‘… Similarly, in an Easter Sunday service in 2016, White said salvation would come to a TV viewer if they donated a ‘resurrection seed‘ to her ministry… [B]between 2004 and 2007 [White’s] church paid a total of $2.755 million in compensation to [her] relatives, including Paula’s son and [her then-husband-copastor] Randy’s two children, father, and sister. Randy and Paula also reportedly received $5 million a year in compensation from their church, and purchased a $3.5 million condo in Trump Tower in New York City, according to Senate documents…”

Trump attended meetings in Da Nang, Vietnam on November 11-12, 2017 at the InterContinental Da Nang Sun Peninsula Resort, owned by the Vietnam Sun Group, which, in collusion with the corrupt and unelected government of Da Nang City, stole the land on which it is built from the 142-year-old Catholic parish of Con Dau and the surrounding Catholic community. Trump ignored an open letter sent to him on June 30, 2017 in which eighteen representatives of various victim and religious groups asked the president to refrain from dignifying the APEC Summit with his presence.
