New Global, “Orthodox” Identity for United Methodists Surprises Many
[That first citation on this page deals primarily with a single, recent (2019) vote by UMC bishops, not with virtually any of the other several dozen issues cited on this page.
Also unmentioned in that article is the fact that biblical “orthodoxy” has never been defined by any single issue . As well, and as can be easily seen from the evidence on this page, the UMC’s episcopal polity is anything but consistent in its doctrinal and/or political enforcement.
