Early Studies On Same-Sex Parenting Found No Differences Between Same-Sex and Heterosexual Parenting of Children Because They Were Methodologically Flawed
First, the participants were aware that the purpose was to investigate same-sex parenting and may have biased their responses in order to produce the desired result.
Second, participants were recruited through networks of friends or through advocacy organizations, resulting in a sample of same-sex parents of higher socioeconomic status than is typical of parents in a same-sex relationship generally.
Third, on average, samples of fewer than 40 children of parents in a same-sex relationship virtually guaranteed findings of no statistically significant differences between groups.

While some [early] researchers have tended to conclude that there are no differences whatsoever in terms of child outcomes as a function of parental sexual orientation, such conclusions appear premature in the light of more recent data in which some different outcomes have been observed in a few studies.

[T]he entire research thesis of ‘no differences[between the results of parenting between hetero- and homosexual parents], trumpeted as an unassailable consensus by some of our society’s most respected arbiters of scientific credibility, is nothing more than a tissue of fabrications and contradictions under color of science.

Unfortunately, Christians have often been reticent to speak up for children in the same fearless, forthright way they advocated for unborn life… [because] Christians have adopted false [i.e. unbiblical] notions of marriage or given in to pervasive social pressure to avoid speaking out.  Many clergy have [likewise] reduced their time in the pulpit or lack the conviction, or courage, to address the issue…  [But d]efending [biblical, heterosexual, monogamous m]arriage is ‘social justice for children’… [because] multiple studies [cited in the article] show children flourish best when raised in an intact home by two married parents of different sexes…  This is 100% an issue of children’s rights.

Lies, Damned Lies, and Ideologically Driven Same-Sex Parenting Statistics
NHIS data have been [repeatedly misused and ab]used to analyze same-sex households and child health… [Some] authors inquired only into a solitary, parent-reported measure of their ‘perception of the child’s overall health,’ a physical well-being proxy that varies only modestly across household types. Hence, [those ideologically driven] authors readily concluded ‘no differences’ [between same-sex and heterosexual parenting].”

Emotional problems [are] over twice as prevalent… for children with same-sex parents than for children with opposite-sex parents.  Risk [is] elevated in the presence of parent psychological distress…, moderated by family instability… and unaffected by stigmatization…, though these all had significant direct effects on emotional problems…  Joint biological parents are associated with the lowest rate of child emotional problems by a factor of 4 relative to same-sex parents, accounting for the bulk of the overall same-sex/opposite-sex difference.

[A]dolescents with same-sex parents experience significantly lower autonomy and higher anxiety, but also better school performance, than do adolescents with opposite-sex parents…  The longer a child has been with same-sex parents, the greater the harm.

Relationship instability appears to be higher among [homosexual] and lesbian parent couples and may be a key mediating factor influencing outcomes for children…

Seventy percent of children living with both biological [i.e. heterosexual] parents had experienced none of the adverse experiences assessed in [this] survey, compared with about 20% of children living with one biological parent or no parents.

[R]search clearly demonstrates that family structure matters for children, and the family structure that helps children the most is a family headed by two biological parents in a low-conflict marriage.  Children in single-parent families, children born to unmarried mothers, and children in stepfamilies or cohabiting [including homosexual] relationships  face higher risks of poor outcomes than do children in intact families headed by two biological parents.

Much empirical work in monogamous societies indicates that higher degrees of relatedness among household members are associated with lower rates of abuse, neglect and homicide. Living in the same household with genetically unrelated adults [i.e. non-biological, heterosexual parents] is the single biggest risk factor for abuse, neglect and homicide of children.

[M]ost scholars now agree that children raised by two biological [i.e. heterosexual] parents in a stable marriage do better than children in other family forms across a wide range of outcomes…

The [lesbian] couple… have been criticised [sic] for denying their child a father.

[Only by  right   wingnuts  who  couldn’t   care  less   about   actual   scientific   data .]

[BTW, speaking of overrated fathers…]

Study: Spending time with Dad good for teen self-esteem

Fatherlessness [including lesbian-parented households] is a major force behind many disturbing U.S. social problems…  The absence of fathers from children’s lives is one of the most important causes of problems related to children’s well-being such as increasing rates of juvenile violent crime, depression and eating disorders, teen suicide, and substance abuse.   The economic difficulties experienced by mother-headed families ultimately account for many of the disadvantages found among fatherless children…  The largest negative consequence of father absence is juvenile delinquency and violence, and early sexual activity.

Fathers’ involvement in their children’s lives has been shown to have a positive effect on children and their well-being in many areas — for example, on increasing the chances of academic success and in reducing the chances of delinquency and substance abuse.

After controlling for covariates, there was stronger and more consistent evidence of [negative] effects of father absence on early sexual activity and teenage pregnancy than on other behavioral or mental health problems or academic achievement.

Children living in female-headed families with no [male] spouse present [have] a poverty rate of 47.6 percent, over four times the rate of children in married-couple families (10.9 percent).

The Data on Children in Same-Sex Households Get More Depressing

New research shows increased risks of same-sex parenting

A massive study by Douglas W. Allen of Simon Fraser University, British Columbia, Canada (High School Graduation rates Among Children of Same-Sex Households), found that ‘daughters raised by [homosexual] men are only 15% as likely to graduate’ high school, compared to children raised in a home by their mother and father.

[Doug Mainwaring, btw, is an open, practicing homosexual.]

Children living with [homosexual] and lesbian families in 2006 were about 65 % as likely to graduate compared to children living in opposite sex marriage families. Daughters of same-sex parents do considerably worse than sons.

to lack health insurance coverage;

to have had two or more emergency room visits in the past 12 months;

to have receipt of needed prescription medication delayed during the past 12 months due to lack of affordability;

to have gone without needed dental care due to cost in the past 12 months;

to be poorly behaved;

and to have definite or severe emotional or behavioral difficulties during the past 6 months.

[homosexual] male relationships are 50 percent more likely to break up than heterosexual marriages, while lesbian relationships are 167 percent more likely to break up than heterosexual marriages.

[homosexual] parenting approximately triples or quadruples the rate of same-sex attraction.  It may be technically true that ‘the vast majority of these children eventually grow up to be heterosexual,’ but only because if being raised by same-sex parents increases the occurrence of same-sex attraction from 2 percent to 8 percent, 92 percent are still heterosexual.  But a fourfold increase is still a sizable effect statistically.

Declarations that homosexuality is ‘normal,’ ‘positive,’ and ‘legitimate’ would seem be the product of value judgments rather than objective science… how does science establish that such a grounding of human identity is ‘positive’… how did science become the arbiter of what is positive?

… &

In a moment of exceptional clarity, the task force put its finger on a core issue: [Homosexual]-affirming psychologies necessarily embody extrascientific moral and ethical deliberations that raise the potential of conflict with religious beliefs, precisely because the very act of giving priority to organismic congruence is a religious and ethical choice.”

[Regarding that last quote, religious and ethical choices are moral choices, not scientific observations.  The APA even acknowledges that fact.]
