The Deadliest Mass Murder Country in the World?: NOT the U.S.
The Myth That the US Leads the World in Mass Shootings
The US trails many other advanced nations in mass shooting frequency and death rate.
No, The United States Does Not Lead The World in Mass Shootings
After numerous, recent mass murders around the U.S., many people [mostly liberals] are convinced that “The U.S. has the highest murder rate in the world. “
It does not. Not even close.
Liberals [including many Republicans ] Say America Is The Worst Western Country For Mass Shootings. That Is A Lie.
Study oft-cited [by fact-ignoring liberals] claiming US is home to 33% of mass murderers worldwide is completely false. Actual figure is less than 1.5%.
“[O]f the 97 countries where they identified mass public shootings, the US ranks 64th per capita in its rate of attacks and 65th in fatalities. According to the Center, the frequency of foreign mass public shootings since 1998 has grown 291% faster in other countries than in the US.“
“[T]he US makes up 1.49% of the murders by firearm worldwide, 2.20% of the attacks, and less than 1.15% of the mass public shooters. All these are much less than America’s 4.6% share of the world population. So, the US is hardly a war-torn gun violence state… [A]s the gun ownership rate in this country has increased, gun violence has actually decreased… [exemplified by a] 49% decrease in gun homicides [prior to 2020]… California and Illinois lead the country in mass shootings. These states notoriously have the strictest gun control laws on the books…”
There were 27 percent more casualties per capita from mass public shootings in the European Union than in the U.S. from 2009 to 2015.
“Less than 1% of all murders in the U.S. occur in shootings where four or more people are killed [the FBI’s definition of ‘mass shooting‘].”
Post-Vegas, 2017 Study Found Mass Killings Were Not On The Rise Over Past Decade
“After every shooting plastered across news outlets nationwide, the ignorant and ignoble alike use the lack of a universally accepted measure to bend the statistics to better suit the gun control narrative… and the left has managed to twist the facts [a.k.a. lie] to turn mass shootings into the ever-moving goalpost of gun control… Mass murders have been defined by the FBI since the 1980s. To qualify, an incident had to result in four deaths excluding the shooter – and they had to be from the same actual incident. Also excluded were acts of terrorism, gang shootings, drug deals gone awry, and pretty much anything connected to organized crime. In 2013, the FBI changed that definition to include shootings that took at least three lives, not including the shooter… Since 2015, many in the media have spurned the FBI’s statistics to cite a crowdsourced tracker from Reddit, created by random people on the internet. Their only qualification was that an incident leaves at least four people shot. It didn’t matter if the victims died, and it didn’t matter what the shooting was about or who the victims were… In 2016, it seemed the shooting tracker merged with or morphed into the Gun Violence Archive, and the methodology changed slightly. This, at least, mirrored original FBI requirements, save one key difference – that the victims didn’t have to die to be counted…. The trick here is to conflate the intentionally similar terms ‘mass murder‘ and ‘mass shooting.’ It’s no different from what gun grabbers do when they call semiautomatic rifles ‘military-like rifles‘ or ‘assault weapons‘… And they don’t stop there. According to some outlets, any shooting – regardless of circumstances – resulting in at least two injuries is a mass shooting… While it’s duplicitous to use these inflated numbers as an appeal to the emotions of voters to get new gun control bills passed, that’s only the beginning… Having drastically different measures with different starting points is precisely how those with an [obvious leftist] agenda make liars out of even the most straightforward statistics… Going by the ‘any old shooting that wounds at least four people, including the shooter, for any reason’ criteria, there were a whopping 614 ‘mass shootings’ in 2020. But only 48 met the FBI’s new three-victim definition for mass murders. Only 20 met the old requirement of four deaths, not counting the shooter – and these numbers don’t adjust for the circumstances of the shootings, just the number of deaths and whether the wounded and the shooter are counted.”
No Surprise [at least to thinking people]: The U.S. has has far fewer mass shootings than commonly reported by the mainstream, left wing media.
The Lives & Motives of Mass Murderers:
Most Most Mass Shooters Are Fatherless
“[Nearly] all violent criminals [especially mass murderers] (plus many drug addicts and a majority of the homeless) share this one quality: they are [nearly] all fatherless.“
[ASND was forced — by the facts — to edit that cited sentence because there is a difference between “all” and “nearly all“. The obvious point, though (at least to thinking people — liberals aren’t interested in facts or reason) is that absentee male parents are far and away the most common and relevant causal connection between troubled young men and the murders they commit. Until this problem is corrected, the problem of mass murders in the U.S. will remain.]
Absentee Fathers, Not Guns, Are The Problem
“75% of the most-cited school shooters in America are fatherless — just like the teenager who walked into Robb Elementary School to murder 21 people. 63% of teenagers who commit suicide are fatherless. 72% of adolescent murderers are fatherless. 75% of adolescents in rehab centres for drug abuse are fatherless. 60% of rapists are fatherless. 85% of teenagers in prison are fatherless…. 85% of children with behavioural problems are fatherless… [and] fatherless boys are 279% more likely to carry guns for criminal behaviour… ”
Guess Which Mass Murderers Came From Fatherless Homes
Almost all of them
“Among the 25 most-cited school shooters since Columbine, 75 percent were reared in ‘incredibly’ broken homes… In fact, the fathers of three of the most infamous school shooters were absent from their sons’ lives… The adoptive father of Nikolas Cruz died when Cruz was 5 years old. And the father of 6-year-old Dedrick Owens, the country’s youngest school shooter, was in jail when his son killed his first grade classmate. Dedrick Owens’ father has said that he suspects his son’s crime was a reaction to his absence… [S]cholar Brad Wilcox called attention to the work of criminologists Michael Gottfredson and Travis Hirschi, which found the absence of fathers to be one of the ‘most powerful predictors of crimes‘… A good starting place would be to reduce the marriage penalties that have been built into our welfare system.”
Of CNN’s list of the “27 Deadliest Mass Shootings In U.S. History,” only one was raised by his biological father since childhood.
[CNN, though, never bothered to mention that critically important fact.]
“Stephen Paddock’s neurosis was an important source of his motivation to commit mass murder. A key element resides in Stephen Paddock’s relationship with his father — or a painful lack of such a relationship.”
[Paddock was the 2017 Las Vegas mass murderer, America’s largest single-act loss of life due to gun violence.]
[The absence of fathers is a mass murder-correlated life condition but not a motive for mass murder. Several motives for mass murders are examined below.]
“The ‘gun lobby‘ didn’t head [the Uvalde, TX school shooter’s] household, the ‘gun lobby‘ didn’t neglect to monitor his behavior, the ‘gun lobby‘ didn’t neglect to secure the school, the ‘gun lobby‘ didn’t leave any doors unlocked, and the ‘gun lobby‘ didn’t tell him to murder anyone.
If you’re going to insanely blame someone for the actions of an 18 year-old criminal who lived at home and dropped out of school, START IN THE HOME and not the millions of law abiding people who carry every single day without issue.“
Psychoactive Drugs Often Linked to Mass Shootings
Why do people become killers? There are [at least] three reasons.
Lust, Desire for Power, & Revenge
[Mr. Wallace is correct in the three motives he cites but he errs when he calls them the “only” motives. He misses at least four others; Ideology , Religion , Mental Illness , and Demonic Possession .]
The Role of Religion (& Anti-Religion):
Leftist, Anti-Christian Culture — Not Guns — Is At The Root Of Most Mass Shootings
Guns Are Not Radically Deadlier Than They Were 50 Years Ago
But Our Self-Destructive, Secular, Liberal Culture Is
Our secular, leftist, anti-Christ-ian culture has incubated a disdain for human life while preaching a gospel of indulging selfish urges, no matter how evil.
[The point here, too, is plainly obvious to thinking people (liberals, again, will pay no attention). While the leading direct causal connection to mass murders is fatherlessness, the cause of fatherlessness has been the anti-Christ-ian social liberalism which has infected not just the entirety of the Democrat party but also most of the controlling elites in the Republican party. So fatherless young men murder masses but the secular liberal masses refuse to acknowledge their own responsibility for creating fatherless young men. This insanity is self perpetuating and virtually no one is willing to deal honestly with the actual data. ASND, however, has done so on this page, presenting the data in spades to anyone willing to actually examine them.]
Highland Park Shooter Bobby Crimo Is Tied to Socialists, Progressives, Antifa and the Occult
America has a moral crisis, not a gun control problem
“Although largely underreported, Satanic subculture and so-called devil worship has been a factor in numerous other mass killings, including the [Aurora, CO] Batman shooting massacre.”
The Dayton, OH shooter was also a Satanist
Red Flag Laws:
“Red flag laws had no significant effect on murder, suicide, the number of people killed in mass public shootings, robbery, aggravated assault, or burglary… These laws apparently do not save lives.”
The failure of Indiana’s gun law to prevent the FedEx shooting reveals the inherent problems with Red Flag laws.
Myriad existing gun control laws have failed to stop ANY mass shootings.
Proposed Red Flag laws would not have prevented ANY mass shootings either because NONE of America’s mass shooters has ever been medically determined to be mentally unfit to possess a firearm.
“It has always been possible to take a dangerous person’s guns away. All 50 states and the federal government have involuntary commitment laws that go by various names… But Red Flag laws remove all these due process protections. There is no ability to challenge claims or to offer testimony from a mental health care expert. Gun control advocates argue that the person should not even know that the judge may be deciding to take his or her guns. When a hearing finally takes place up to a month later, if the person in question cannot afford an attorney, they will not be provided with one. Few defendants obtain legal representation, but the courts still overturn a third of the initial orders. The actual error rate is undoubtedly much higher, because many of those wrongly prosecuted don’t have a lawyer.“
[For those who don’t read and have no idea what that to which this meme refers is, look up the Wounded Knee Massacre .]
Mass Murder A Modern, Gun-Driven Curse? Hardly.
Mass-shooting survivor lobbies Congress for less gun control
Restricted Access To Buildings:
“[T]he [Uvalde, TX] shooter was able to enter the school through a[n unlocked] back door…”
Many liberals seem confused about how doors work. A “one door” school doesn’t mean a single hinged barrier is all that will be accessible to everyone in the building. It means a single entrance. This is not a revolutionary idea… except to some liberals.
If Democrats Cared About School Shootings, They’d Protect Schools
Government buildings — where Democrats dominate — have lots of security.
The hotels where liberal think tanks meet have lots of security.
Schools, though, never have and never will as long as liberals continue to run them .
[This is true for virtually all mass murders perpetrated inside of schools, churches, and other, mostly privately owned buildings. Yet for decades these buildings have continued to remain unlocked and easily accessible to deranged mass murderers. This, ladies and gentlemen, is absolutely insane !]

Responding to Inane Arguments Against Armed Guards In Schools, Business, Churches, Stadia, & Anywhere Else
In 2021, an armed school guard stopped a shooting at Hinkley High School in Aurora, CO, keeping the suspects in the parking lot. Three teenagers were injured in the attack, but no fatalities were involved.
In 2018, a school shooting in Ocala, Florida was limited to only one student being injured thanks to an armed guard.
At Dixon High School in Illinois, also in 2018, an armed guard was able to shoot a gunman before anyone else was harmed.
Another would-be shooter in a Maryland school was stopped by an armed guard. This also occurred in 2018.
In 2013, at Arapahoe High School in Centennial, CO, Karl Pierson tried to commit a mass casualty event. It only lasted 80 seconds after he was confronted by an armed guard. Tragically, he was able to kill one student. Pierson, though, intended to kill as many people as possible according to authorities at the time.
It was the guard’s presence [at Columbine High School in 1999] and the resistance he and others offered that kept the carnage less than it might have been [there].”
Democrats Seek to Block Federal Funds to Arm Teachers
[ASND recognizes that arming all teachers is likely impossible and — given their pacifist, leftist proclivities — also counterproductive. To significantly enhance deterrence against attempted entry into schools by armed lunatics, however, just their knowing that some of the teachers will also be armed and trained to eliminate them prior to the execution of their deranged plans would be worth every penny spent on such programs.]
Uvalde, TX School Shooting: Extreme Cowardice And Incompetence Among Local Police

Foreign mass murders don’t get much U.S. media attention because those mass murders are usually committed with weapons other than guns. The mainstream, left wing U.S. media, therefore, cannot demonize guns which were not used.
“Research shows that [mass shooting] incidents usually occur in clusters and tend to be contagious. Intensive media coverage seems to drive the contagion.”
Mass Shootings: Another Consequence of Democrat Majorities
The Boulder, CO shooter, Ahmad Al Issa — like most mass murderers –, is not a white supremacist but he is — also like most mass murderers — a convinced, committed leftist.

Police Identify Aminadab Gaxiola Gonzalez as Mass Shooting Suspect in Orange, CA
“The 19-year-old FedEx shooting suspect, who killed eight people… and injured seven others, was reported to law enforcement officials last year by his mother [because — like so many mass murderers demonstrated above — his father was uninvolved with the family]… [and] The suspect was placed on immediate detention mental health *temporary* hold by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department… [but] no criminal violation was found… [because he] didn’t indicate support for any *racially* motivated ideological extremism while he was under assessment.”
[So he was released and was later able to legally purchase the weapons used in the FedEx massacre — because he didn’t admit and *racially* motivated hate. That was the only thing local and federal law enforcement cared about, utterly disinterested in the soon-to-be murderer’s other obvious mental health issues.]
Dayton shooter supported Democrat Prez Candidate Elizabeth Warren
The Dayton mass shooter was a leftist who supported Antifa
“Dayton shooter recently called leftist Tacoma ICE firebomber a ‘martyr‘ & retweeted a mockery of me getting beaten by Antifa.”
Liberal environmental alarmism partly motivated Patrick Crusius’s El Paso mass shootings
“[The Crusius manifesto] address[es] climate change, saying, ‘… the average American isn’t willing to change their lifestyle, even if the changes only cause a slight inconvenience. The government is unwilling to tackle these issues beyond empty promises since they are owned by corporations.‘ It [also] said reducing the number of people in the country is a way to help staunch the drain on natural resources… ‘So the next logical step is to decrease the number of people in America using resources. If we can get rid of enough people, then our way of life can become more sustainable.‘”
The El Paso killer is a left-wing extremist, a registered Democrat, and environmental and global warming alarmist. His environmentalism is also the basis for his racism and anti-immigrant views.
Not surprisingly, as a Democrat, he also hates large corporations and the fact that Republicans in control of Congress have made it possible in recent years for higher numbers of low-skilled immigrant workers to into the U.S.

Liberals first ignored, then denied God, His definition of family, and His definition of community. In doing so, liberals intentionally marginalized (by way of persecution), then criminalized (by way of judicial and legislative activism) the religious institutions (mostly Christian churches) that have helped people understand their God-designed and defined value and place in the world for thousands of years.
The intentional elimination of those values and institutions by the Left is now evident in the rise of mass shootings and numerous other clearly observed measures of social decay.
“[T]he real-life rampage murderer kills… in the belief that mass murder is ‘the solution to his problems.‘ He imagines that the spectacle of his crime will bring wide attention to the injustices he has had to bear. Through mass murder, he will assert his grievances and accomplish what he has failed to accomplish thus far: ‘to be heard, understood, and accepted‘… [R]eal-life mass murderers aren’t necessarily ‘crazed killers‘ or persons suffering some mental disorder — in fact, many are neither. A study published in The Southwest Journal of Criminal Justice reported that fewer than one-third of mass killers had any mental health concern. Dr. Michael Stone, a professor of clinical psychiatry, concurs. After personally examining over 200 mass murderers, Dr. Stone found that ‘only 25 were ruled clinically insane.‘ The rest, he found, were ‘social misfits or angry loners’ whose rage was triggered by ‘some event‘… Granted, better diagnosis and care of the mentally ill… might play a role in reducing the number of rampage murders, but until we look beyond the killer’s mental state… to the ideas that shaped him, any reduction will remain heartbreakingly small… It should strike us as more than coincidental that the rise in rampage killings began [with] the vapors of nihilism… Although its milder form s — relativism and subjectivism [both cardinal tenets of liberalism ] — are more prevalent, they share nihilism’s tenet that neither God nor Man is the measure of all things, but the individual… The increase in zombie-like murders is gut-wrenching. But if we think we can thwart the perpetrators with the silver bullets of executive orders and congressional action, we would do well to recall Prohibition and the War on Drugs. Those efforts failed — and to the extreme — because legislation and law enforcement, by themselves, cannot imbue a moral sense into the heart of the offender, or renew the moral climate of society… Unless the nihilistic worldview is abandoned for one that recognizes such a Transcendence, we can expect a rise in the number of walking dead and their devastating crimes. We must teach students and young people to reject what some of the supposedly brightest minds today are selling them — that the universe is meaningless and without purpose or supervision. Such nihilism only deadens the soul, which, after all, was created for communion with the living God.”
Mass Murders & CoViD-19
“An FBI study of mass shootings from 2000 to 2018 showed 44 percent occurred in ‘commerce‘ locations such as businesses and malls, and another 21 percent in education settings. These also happen to be areas impacted heavily by COVID-19, resulting in mass closures across the nation. It is [therefore] no coincidence that the removal of the favored soft targets for these killers has resulted in a dramatic drop-off of mass shootings.”
[The point, of course — easily discernable to thinking people (liberals need not apply) — is that gun control laws had nothing to do with the 2020 drop in mass murders.]
[ANSD recommends these three pages for a full, factual treatment of gun control.]
Against the Misguided Moral Superiority of Gun Controllers
Their proposals would do nothing to stop mass shootings.
The Facts About Mass Shootings Support Gun Ownership, Not Gun Control
First, ALL mass shootings have occurred despite existing legal barriers to gun ownership. The simple fact of the matter is, in no U.S. state can absolutely anyone purchase firearms.
Second, many mass shooters have purchased guns despite failing legally-required background checks and failing to turn in weapons which police have ordered relinquished.
Third, Democrats have also been blatantly hypocritical on those kinds of failures. When Democrats retook control of the U.S. House of Representatives, they passed a bill to require background checks on every gun sale or transfer, BUT Democrats rejected Republicans’ efforts to add an amendment that would ensure law enforcement is notified ‘when an individual attempting to purchase a firearm fails a federal background check.’
Before Democrats look to more and more new measures of gun control, they should concern themselves with the enforcement of existing gun laws, keeping weapons out of the hands of criminals, and holding accountable institutions and policies which allow threats to go undetected.
26 mass murderers since 2007 have legally obtained firearms in the U.S. after passing background checks. Several of those same murderers were also Islamic immigrants known by the FBI to be potential threats.
“Based upon what we know of mass shootings over the past five decades, an ‘assault-weapons ban’ would not have prevented the majority of school shootings or mass shootings. [That cited report – like the vast majority of media reports about these incidents – incorrectly identify semi-automatic rifles as ‘assault weapons‘, which they are not; only fully automatic, military-issued rifles – which are already banned to civilians nation-wide and are exceedingly difficult to obtain and use — are correctly classified as ‘assault weapons‘]…
Some may fairly ask how a troubled 18-year-old young man obtained the funds to purchase several thousand dollars’ worth of firearms and ammunition before he started his rampage [in Uvalde, TX]…
[T]he Uvalde [TX] shooter had no criminal record. No one in law enforcement, his family, or his school ever filed a petition seeking to remove firearms from his possession because he posed a potential threat to himself or others. As far as we know, no one ever filed a restraining order against him. [So no background check of any kind would have prevented t]he shooter [from] purchas[ing] his firearms legally [which he did]…
The only thing that stops an aspiring mass shooter before he pulls the trigger is someone’s going to law enforcement and communicating their concerns and fears, and law enforcement’s choosing to act by going to court and legally seizing that person’s firearms…“
Why ‘Gun Control’ Will Never Prevent, Or Likely Even Reduce, Mass Killings
Mass killings are very rare, accounting for only 0.2 percent of homicides every year and approximately 1 percent of homicide victims.
Only 12 percent of mass killings are mass public shootings. Most mass killings are familicides (murders of family members or intimate partners) and felony-related killings (such as robberies gone awry or gang-related ‘turf battles’).
Although there has been a slight increase in the frequency of mass public shootings over the past few years, the rates are still similar to what the United States experienced in the 1980s and early 1990s.
Over 90 percent of public mass shootings take place in ‘gun-free zones’ where civilians are not permitted to carry firearms.
A complete ban on “assault weapons” will save very few lives: Six out of every 10 mass public shootings are carried out by handguns alone, while only one in 10 is committed with a rifle alone.
The average age of mass public shooters is 34, which means that increasing the minimum age for purchasing firearms would not target the main perpetrators of mass public shootings.
Few mass public shooters have used “high-capacity magazines,” and there is no evidence that the lethality of their attacks would have been affected by delays of two to four seconds to switch magazines. In fact, some of the largest mass shootings in U.S. history were carried out with “low-capacity” weapons:
The Virginia Tech shooter killed 32 and injured 17 with two handguns, one of which had a 10-round magazine and the other a 15-round magazine. He simply brought 19 extra magazines.
Twenty-three people were killed and another 20 injured in a Killeen, Texas, cafeteria by a man with two 9mm handguns, capable of maximums of 15-round and 17-round magazines, respectively.
A mentally disturbed man armed with two handguns and a shotgun shot and killed 21 people in a San Ysidro McDonald’s and injured another 19. The handguns utilized 13-round and 20-round magazines, and the shotgun had a five-round capacity.
60 percent of mass public shooters had been diagnosed with a mental disorder or had demonstrated signs of serious mental illness prior to the attack.
A large body of research shows a statistical link between mass public killings and serious untreated psychiatric illness.
The United States does not have an extraordinary problem with mass public shootings compared to other developed countries.
After adjusting for population differences, many other developed countries have worse problems with mass public shootings than the United States has.
There were 27 percent more casualties per capita from mass public shootings in the European Union than in the U.S. from 2009 to 2015.
Mass killers often find ways to kill even without firearms [see examples in article].

“Raising the minimum age to purchase firearms would not have [prevented 28] of the 30 worst mass-shootings in U.S. history… Chicago, a city with some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation… saw 762 gun deaths and experienced 4,331 shootings in 2016 alone… France [which — like Chicago– also bans so-called ‘assault’ rifles and most hand guns endured] 532 casualties from mass-shootings in 2015 alone. As a comparison, America — with five times France’s population — experienced only 527 casualties from mass-shootings over an eight-year period from 2009 to 2016.”
[ASND edited the original “29 of the 30 worst mass-shootings” to “28″ after the 2019 El Paso massacre. Notice, though, that the percentage difference was less than 4%. Even after El Paso, over 93% of mass murders would not have been prevented with a nation-wide firearm purchase age of 21.]
“Even the federal government defines and counts mass shootings in inconsistent and murky ways.”
[The point? Data on these incidents are inconsistently measured and reported. Therefore the data are often unreliable. Policy-making from such inconsistent data is therefore just as inconsistent and unreliable.]
New Gun Policies Won’t Stop Mass Shootings, but People Can
“The Washington Post’s Glenn Kessler (hardly an NRA apologist) famously fact-checked Marco Rubio’s assertion that new gun laws wouldn’t have prevented any recent mass shootings and declared it true… Looking at the deadliest mass shootings since Columbine, we see that the warning signs were there, time and again. People could have made a difference.
[But they didn’t, either because they thought laws and law enforcement would act for them or — as was certainly the case in Parkland, FL, the members of law enforcers were blatantly derelict in their sworn duties to protect and defend the innocent].

The Aurora [CO] shooter was able to carry out an act of gun violence not because of a lack of gun laws, but because of a bureaucratic failure to enforce the existing ones.
“… the [‘Joker’] shooter at the theater in Aurora, Colo., had other theaters between his home and his ultimate target that he could have chosen. Yet, the one he picked was the one that publicly proclaimed itself gun-free… in other school shooting incidents, such as at a high school in Pearl, Miss., the shooter’s spree was cut short by the presence of an armed citizen able to shoot back…”
“… any person who would have shot James Holmes [in Aurora] and stopped the massacre would, themselves, have been arrested as a criminal! In Aurora, Colorado, it is illegal to stop a massacre.“

No Evidence ‘Assault Weapon’ Bans Reduce Mass Shootings
Crime study: Handguns, not ‘assault rifles,’ used in most mass shootings
“Contrary to [liberal] belief, [many so-called ‘assault weapons’ are] legal outside the United States. Canadians, for example, can purchase a Tavor or similar rifle with a basic firearms license. New Zealanders can purchase a ‘featureless’ AR-15 with a basic firearms license; they can also purchase one with a pistol grip and flash-suppressor if they are willing to go through the paperwork. Further, feature tests do not make much sense as policy. There is no reason to believe that pistol grips, forward grips, telescoping stocks, or barrel shrouds increase the lethality of a firearm.”
“Democrats want to ban ‘assault’ weapons. Such a ban was tried before and rejected because it did not work. Congress passed the Federal Assault Weapons Ban in 1994. It was so ineffective that Congress did not renew it in 2004.”

Liberal gun-control activists frequently claim that military weapons are not appropriate for consumer use. But then they define consumer products such as the AR-15 to be a “military” [or “assault”] weapon. It is not. And the U.S. government says so.
“… authorities believe the [Boston Marathon] explosives were likely a ‘pressure-cooker device,’ similar to improvised explosive weapons used against American troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.”
